01Check the target
Read the post (out loud). What phrase appears over and over, not what phrase you meant to target.
Investigate that phrase. Is there real search volume behind it?
Difficulty realistic for where your site is right now?
No potential? Stop here. Nothing past this step matters until it's fixed.
02Check competitiveness
Run a SERP check on the keyword.
Read the verdict against your Benchmark DA: Tough, Mixed, or Easy?
If tough: plan a long-tail variation, add internal links, or revisit once your DA is stronger.
03Match the format
Read the top 10 titles from that same SERP check.
Which are you seeing most of: single recipes, listicles, or long-form guides?
Confirm your post matches that format.
04Check freshness
Check your post's Updated date in the keyword flyout.
Stale? Update the photos and text, then republish and let Google re-crawl it.
